Te Puke, the ‘kiwifruit capital of the world,’ is the heart of the country’s kiwifruit industry.
Located 25 kilometres from Tauranga along State Highway 2, Te Puke is surrounded by orchards and pack houses. The town hosts an annual kiwifruit festival to pay tribute to the kiwifruit industry and its role in the town.
Te Puke is set in a prime location close to three surf beaches - Papamoa, Pukehina and Maketu - within a 10-minute drive of the town centre.
There are many bushwalks and parks in the area such as the Roydon Downs Bush and Farm Walks. Te Puke also has a multitude of walking tracks, picnics, BBQs, camping sites and swimming holes to entertain the whole family.
With a great variety of shops, cafes and industry, Te Puke is a fine example of a developing, bustling New Zealand town.
