Hibiscus Surf School at Mount Maunganui is totally devoted to surfing. Come and learn the art of surfing the waves with us.

We offer first class surfing tuition for all ages and abilities in a fun, safe learning environment.

What ever your ability, your wonderful Hibiscus instructors will be there to urge you along and cheer for you as you catch your first magic ride.

Join in a small group lesson or take a private lesson with your own personal instructor. Female instructors are available.

Free 1 hour surfboard hire after your 2 hr surf lesson.

Want to learn to surf or improve your style and technique?
Book in for a 2 or 5 day surf clinic.
You will improve your surfing fast and gain surf knowledge that would otherwise have taken years.

Hibiscus Surf School also offers school groups a 'School Surf Ed' programme'.

Island paddle and snorkel tour:
When the waves are flat it’s a great time to explore the beautiful waters of Mount Maunganui. Join a small group and snorkel safely out and around enjoying the warm and interesting waters. Snorkelling equipment available for hire.

Surfboard hire:
Over summer we have a permanent hire location at the Main Beach, opposite Motoriki Island. You can hire surfboards of every shape and size, bodyboards, snorkelling gear to explore, stand up paddle boards and tandem surfboards. Look for the red Hibiscus tent at the Main Beach.
